ACZ25 - Development of the Innovative Mechanical Solution Taking into Account Material Options

Research into the development and utilisation of materials in precision tools. Development of an innovative hand tool for processing wire ferrules

As part of the project, a new type of mobile hand-held device is being developed for stripping, crimping and quality testing wire ferrules with flexible cross-sections. Among other things, a mechanical solution is being developed that realises all the essential steps of the crimping process. The miniaturisation of the overall system is achieved through the use of high-performance materials and scientific production engineering activities.

With the development of complex mechanics based on high-performance materials, the project creates extensive knowledge about the interrelationships in the development and utilisation of material constructions in precision tools. This knowledge can be used for the conceptualisation and processing of future projects at the WAVE Production Technology Institute and Wismar University of Applied Sciences. In addition, the large number of manufacturing processes to be analysed will result in new research approaches for further basic and application projects.
